Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Manufacturing and Process Development Engineering Teams significantly impact LEANPD driven new product development projects, driving for excellence in existing manufacturing technologies and methods and striving to implement new manufacturing technologies to provide improved process and tolerance control.

They act as the binding element between product development and manufacturing engineering, ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of this critical interface.

They support Product Development in the optimization of designs and piece parts for manufacturability by realizing sample tooling / products / prototypes.

They also design, develop, and qualify tooling and processes to meet TE quality and production standards, document all processes and tooling in applicable TE systems, support supply chain to verify supplier compliance and capability, initiate and implement programs to continuously improve quality, cost and cycle time and adhere to all appropriate specifications, regulatory requirements and customer requirements.

Responsibilities

Responsible for developing / monitoring / reducing cost / sourcing of assembly manufacturing processes for cable assemblies, including plastic to plastic and metal to plastic products in the Automotive arena

Acts as lead manufacturing engineer on their assigned team for cable assembly operations and projects

Works closely with cable product engineering to develop in-house processes and / or external resources to ensure that the design is manufacturable at lowest cost

Responsible for ensuring that manufacturing sites have the proper equipment for manufacturing, testing and quality control to ensure that product is delivered in accordance with all requirements

Conducts or monitors process FMEAs, failure analysis, vendor audits and is responsible for approving first articles for new products using specific standards and specifications

Functions as liaison to global manufacturing facilities and is responsible to provide solutions and incorporating lessons learned of manufacturing issues, for both new and legacy products, along with project management of new product launch

Will periodically lead and train production employees on new launch projects within the manufacturing environment

QualificationsBS Degree in Industrial, Mechanical Engineering or Process Design

5-8 years of experience in manufacturing and automation design, preferably in the Coax Cable process assembly

Fluency in written and verbal English communication skills required

Proficient in machine, tool, and fixture design using AutoCAD and / or Pro-E preferred.

Proficient knowledge of MS Office tools such as Excel, Word, Microsoft Project, & Outlook

Automotive Industry experience required

Must be able to obtain a valid Passport & US Visa
