SUMMARY : The Senior Product Engineer (SPE) works as the key Operations representative to improve the performance and design of existing products, overseeing the production process, and investigating key issues in improving product functionality.
The SPE will work with all manufacturing locations, all internal departments as well as external suppliers to accomplish this.
Investigate product design problems in Manufacturing, determine root cause and develop and needed solutions.
Provide a detailed, hands on analysis of Printed Circuit Board Assembly issues including debug analysis and hardware troubleshooting working closely with manufacturing teams and engineering teams
Communicate to the Manufacturing team regarding implementation of proposed solutions and monitor solution progress.
An excellent understanding of the PCB design process. Familiarity with Mentor Graphics a plus.
A familiarity with the production test process, including JTAG and Labview.
Understand, and where necessary develop and measure product Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that show a successfully implemented solution.
Use production test and process reporting tools to devise and execute quality assurance experiments and multivariate tests to check proposed product solutions.
Re view product performance specifications, and support team members in implementation of their solutions.
The Senior Product Engineer will be responsible for working with the Engineering and Manufacturing teams to improve product design, development , cost and manufacturability.
The SPEs input should help ensure that products retain utmost quality whilst remaining attentive and dedicated to cost and manufacturability
Ability to lead and participate in high performing, cross-functional teams
Qualifications and Skills :
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Electrical / Mechanical is preferred.
5 to 10 years of electronics assembly industry experience
Experience reading schematics to troubleshoot Printed Circuit Board Assemblies
Ability to interpret and analyze statistical data, understand and resolve technical difficulties, interface with internal experts and manage multiple priorities in a manufacturing environment setting.
Utilize formal Failure Analysis (FA), Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) tools and techniques to quickly and efficiently troubleshoot and resolve problems and implement robust corrective and preventative actions.
Experience managing priorities with third party vendors and key partners.
Ability to communicate well with all Customers and all levels of the organization including Manufacturing, Management, Marketing, Sales, Process Engineering, Test Lab personnel and other Engineers (local and global).
General understanding of assembly drawings and other typical Design and Manufacturing Documentation
Ability to prioritize, work to meet objectives and to manage multiple activities / projects simultaneously.
