Title : Specification Analyst

Primary Location : Mexico (MX) - Coahuila

Function : Product Engineering

Major Purpose

Publishes engineering change documents involving engineering and manufacturing data including all levels of complexity. Responsible for the integrity of the Common Specification data, Part Geometry Change Control data at a unit including the interface with Worldwide Information System for Engineers (WISE) and other worldwide common databases.

Recognized as a specifications expert, providing leadership, consultation and training to others in the unit or division.

Trains less experienced team members in best practices, guidelines and standards integral to the change notification process.

Main Responsibilities

  • Conducts functional geometry reviews on parts and assemblies to ensure quality goals and functional requirements of models / drawings and specifications are met.
  • Writes and proofs production level specifications for design changes to complex parts and assemblies related to major programs and product improvements by analyzing engineering data and other related data for Product Delivery Process (PDP) / Product Data Management (PDM) tools.
  • Using the engineering change process, creates, coordinates and maintains complex Bills of Material, Material Masters, drawing revisions and part attribute data in corporate information systems.
  • Uses knowledge and experience to serve as liaison and consultant providing feedback that affects specification and decision activities;
  • serves as specification representative for project teams.

  • Completes various specification audits and monitors Engineering changes to ensure data integrity and uniformity.
  • Coordinates and delegates inter-factory decision changes.
  • Facilitates required multi-discipline meetings, records and publishes meeting minutes and works closely with other affected stake holders to establish a consistent pattern for adopting specifications.
  • Provides work direction and trains team members and other users as needed to assure work is completed using proper processes.

    Ability to use various department specific computer programs.Knowledge in engineering principles, theory and practice as well as product knowledge.

    Understanding of specification systems and decision release systems.Knowledge of Product Delivery Process programs.Education

    Engineering Bachelor Degree

    This position will be posted for a minimum of 7 business days and unposted when a qualified pool of candidates is achieved.
