Define, measure, analyze and improve process capability of Machining, assembly and test processes.
Establish manufacturing rates, routings and assist in the process of sourcing the parts and components.
Provide shop floor support to resolve daily process related issues by working with product and process engineers, planners, supervisors and direct employees.
Development of robust quality solutions in response to customer rejections and implement permanent corrective actions.
Analyze, document and implement recommendations for correction of process failure and / or cost reduction opportunities.
Develop proposals and justification for new / replacement capital equipment and provide technical assistance to bring equipment on line with cost and timing requirements.
Initiate and direct development of new manufacturing processes or changes along with Manufacturing Engineering utilizing BPS methodologies.
Working with QMM, determine internal quality procedures and implement in manufacturing.
Control and monitor possible bottleneck situations in production process.
Provide feedback (CIP) to all related areas including Machining, Assembly, Test and / or QMM.
Participate in BPS Kaizen events both within and outside your area.
The incumbent plans his or her own work assignments on a regular basis.
Initiate and lead continuous process development including tooling / fixture design, CNC programming, assembly and testing.
Improve information and material flow of value streams, Process Documentation PCP, PQP, FMEA and Capability studies.
Implement, train operators for TPM (Total Productive Maintenance), for improvement of the overall equipment effectiveness.
Perform other essential and related peripheral duties as may be assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering from an accredited institution (ex.CHEA).
CNC programming knowledge required.
Experience in work piece holding fixture design & manufacture, (Machining / Assembly / Testing).
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles.
Effective applied knowledge of low batch size and high volume repetitive manufacturing setup and various manufacturing principles and ideologies.
Must have strong analytical and problem solving skills required.
Experience using problem solving techniques such as Root Cause Analysis, 8D methods, etc are desired.
Excellent project management skills, as well as verbal and written communication skills.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Experience with AutoCAD / Solidworks3D / or other 3D Modeling software.
