BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for dynamic, results driven individual to join as a Program Manager at our SLP Plant in Mexico.

In this role, and under direct supervision of the Program Manager II, the Program Manager I will be primarily responsible for leading a cross-

functional Program Team within the plant operations as well as PDS organization to achieve defined business objectives and customer requirements according to the PDS Development Process.

The Program Manager is accountable for the performance and success of the Program Team without any direct organizational reporting relationship.

Provides program management for customer and internal programs, focusing on (1) the assertive oversight of product launches, (2) vigilant cost containment, avoidance, and reduction throughout a product’s life cycle, (3) a comprehensive communications effort.

KEY FUNCTIONSAccountable for Program Execution

  • Works at all levels of the organization to build a case for the program and gain the commitment of the department heads allowing the allocation of the necessary resources.
  • Drives accountability and action within the Program Team.
  • Develops programs from inception thru Standard Operating Procedure and beyond.Leadership
  • Coordinates, and exercises, functional authority for the planning, organization, budget, integration, and completion of prototype programs within the company.
  • Creates and follows standard reporting to management by pulling information from functional areas.Accountable for APQP and PDS Development Processes
  • Drives the APQP process to meet cost, timing, and delivery objectives in a IATF16949 environment.
  • Ensures internal and external documentation requirements are met.
  • Creates and manages program timelines to meet critical milestones as well as program metrics.Understands and applies financial concepts
  • Achieves the financial results the program was approved on.
  • Manages financial outcomes of the programs and tracks forecast versus actual expenses.Risk Management
  • Lead activities to identify program risks and drive team to close those identified gaps.Manages customer relationship
  • Interacts with customer teams to help develop and lead programs aimed at satisfying customer demands.
  • Develops relationships with customers that make the product launches an experience that contributes to awarding new business in the future.QUALIFICATIONS
  • Requires a minimum of 3 years experience with Program Management or Customer Team Management
  • Requires at least 8 years experience in automotive product development and launch on a Tier 1 level.
  • Previous experience in launching a Ford Program at a TierI supplier and experience in Ford WERS / VPP and Q1 Quality Systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Package (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project) required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required. Must be good at influencing others, setting direction, and prioritizing.
  • Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills are necessary.
