TE Connectivity's Operations Managers are responsible for the day-to-day operations and short / long-term planning for the groups they manage.
They manage manufacturing, production control, engineering, inventory control, EH&S, shipping / receiving, etc. focusing on the development of technologies and continuous improvement and translating customer requirements into state-of-the-art manufacturing strategies and processes.
o Own, manage and lead the entire Cable & Wiring plant's production Value Stream
o Work force planning, labor readiness, efficiency and operational execution in terms of Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost / Productivity and people's engagement
o Responsible for the safety and security of all employees in the manufacturing area and ensure that plant safety rules are followed
o Responsible for quality performance of Cable & Wiring Value Stream
o Responsible for maintaining quality policies in the manufacturing area and for increasing the manufacturing quality performance to ensure Extraordinary Customer Experience and continuous improvement of products and services
o Responsible for production control, attainment and delivery of the Cable & Wiring Value Stream by working directly in the shop floor
o Responsible for cost and productivity initiatives of the Cable & Wiring Value Stream
lead organizational changes in production area; increase the skill level of production work force
o Contribute to the establishment of adequate operations budgets under close cooperation with the Site Manager and functional leaders and make sure budgetary limitations are respected
o Contribute to the Sales and Operations Planning Process (S&OP) on local level
o Support the professional growth of employees, identifying key players, proposing actions aimed at motivating people
o Actively contribute to develop local talents through training, coaching, and facilitation
o Ensure employees are skilled and trained according to latest standards.
o Provide strong inclusive leadership, modeling TE Values to VS Managers in order to ensure proper performance of duties and achievement of assigned objectives
o Build pipeline of talent in Operations through development
o Keep all production employees informed about KPI’s status and targets and motivate them to pursue established targets
o Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field, Master's Degree preferred
o 5 to 10 years of professional experience with focus on production, logistics or auto / industrial engineering and financial knowledge
o Previous experience in leading operations in multiple value stream level is essential
o Strong background implementing Lean Manufacturing tools, such as : 5S+1, Visual Factory, Standard, Work, Quick Changeover, Problem Solving Methodologies, DMAIC, and TPM essential.
o Experience using Value Stream mapping
o Six Sigma Master Black Belt certification preferred
o Excellent communication and coaching skills at all levels, from the shop floor to top management
