We are currently seeking a Sr Estimator to join our PMT- HPS team in our Malaysia office.

Support the sales function in the PMT-HPS organization by developing accurate, timely and professional estimates. You will analyze the sales estimates to the customer requirements and provide mentorship on factors to be used for driven estimating.

You will provide accurate and timely estimates which include scope, material, and labor effort by skilled field. You will develop efficient estimates and identify explicit proposal inclusions to be prepared within required timelines.

You will seek new and creative solutions for addressing customer needs.


Prepare and create responses to customer’s requests for proposals, estimates and information as directed sales and operations teams.

Deliver Proposals of the highest quality possible and continually seek out ways to improve the way we serve our customers.

Demonstrate systems and tools to accurately maintain estimates, proposals, requests, responses and supporting documentation.

Through experience and astute use of available resources maintain a high success rate of proposals.

Lead a designated team of Proposal Engineers for the delivery of proposals and estimates.

Proposals and estimates are gathered within Siebel, as per the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s).

Complete cost estimates and proposals within the required time.

The accurate portrayal of costs in the form of cost estimates.

Propose technical and / or commercial alternatives that enable the lowest compliant bid while providing the highest value to the customer.

Through experience and by utilizing the resources of the designated team, the Assistant Manager / Team Leader should coordinate packages from 3rd party vendors and other internal Honeywell organisations.

The Assistant Manager / Team Leader should mentor and coach the people who report to him / her.

Performance and Development feedback and salary planning for the team.


Adhere to, and ensure that all reports adhere to, the BSUP Standard Operating Procedures.

Study RFQ and other documents / drawings supplied by customer and propose, or seek a consultant led solution which fits technical & commercial requirements.

Estimate PAS equipment and services using the relevant tools.

Identify 3rd party Packages / Equipment / Buyout items and engage Procurement to obtain sub-vendor Technical and Commercial offers.

Identify Packages / Equipment from other Business Units, i.e. Advanced Solutions, Building Solutions, etc. and engage the proper BU to obtain Technical and Commercial offers.

Working with Procurement, Evaluate the Technical and Commercial Offers received from Third Party Vendors and Honeywell Business Units.

Complete a full proposal with the required scope of supply / documents (some of them could be prepared by other functions, BU within the organization or by sub-contractors).

Create and submit the e-GAP.

Respond to post-proposal technical quires / clarifications and update the proposal, if necessary.

Prepare booking package as per the BSUP SOPs when project is awarded.

Be a collaboration agent, lead efforts for sharing and standardizing of standard methodologies.

Continuously develop knowledge of new product / releases of Honeywell portfolio.

Ensure that a Proposal Plan is prepared as per the SOP’s, which should also include all resources, responsibilities, deliverables and dates, for all proposal team members in GPS and Front Offices

Lead a proposal team to deliver large proposals for multiple clients, often in multiple countries.

Develop a team of GPS Proposal Engineers providing leadership and coaching

Key Experience & Capabilities :

Relates to and understands the client’s requirements.

Microsoft Office tools and other business applications.

Technically minded and an integrative problem solver. Able to propose alternative solutions, inside and outside the Honeywell scope of supply.

Fluent in oral and written English. Other languages are beneficial (Malay, Chinese).

Should be able to work with others in a team environment. A true standout colleague.

A good knowledge of Honeywell portfolio.

A well-developed sense of the customer's business and their requirements.

Understands the unique value proposition of Honeywell's offering.

Good knowledge of competitor's solutions, value propositions, market strategies, and position.

2 - 3 years METERING Solution experience.

2 - 3 years field equipment, process automation and / or solutions experience.

Leadership and management experience is beneficial.

Experience in delivering complete Proposals.
