Job Description As an Enterprise Software Architect you will be a high profile and key member of our team; helping to design;

develop; and deploy products for our customers; including but not limited to the modernization of existing products and the creation of new products in the future.

Your solutions will address complex business issues and you will provide technical leadership / guidance to the project team.

Leverage industry best practices; tools; and infrastructure using Agile methodology. Your valuable time will be spent on architecture challenges within a product set while taking on a more broad view across our product portfolio and recommend design and architecture that will benefit our products and customers.

Our main objective is to move one of our premier software products to the cloud using Azure. We need someone who LOVES architectural challenges;

thrives on to getting their hands dirty in the code and has successfully transitioned a product to the cloud with multiple tenants.

This is a major undertaking! We need a mastermind to accept the challenge!

Our tech stack for this product suite is Java / J2EE / SQL / Azure or AWS. Any exposure to Microsoft and open source technologies would be a huge plus!

Here’s some of what you will be doing :

Design; develop; and deploy well-designed software that not only addresses the defined customer needs but is also clear;

documented; tested and delivered continuously to production

Collaborate with Development and QA teams to populate customer product backlog and participate in the clarification of features and estimates within the Scrum process

Responsible for the scalability; performance; cost optimization and security of the architecture and implemented solution

Participate in creating a view of WK’s strategy; processes and information technology assets. As our Enterprise Architect;

use your knowledge to ensure that business & technology goals and strategies are aligned

Link our business mission; strategy and processes using multi architectural models that show how the current and future needs of WK’s organization will be met in an efficient;

sustainable / scalable; agile manner

Remain up-to-date on emerging technologies and architecture and propose ways to use them in current and upcoming projects

Leverage technical knowledge to cut scope while maintaining or achieving the overall goals of the product

Minimum Qualifications :

Education :

Bachelor’s degree in CompSci; Engineering or Math. Master’s degree highly desirable OR a minimum of 6 years of experience as a Software Architect (enterprise level)

Experience :

Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as an Enterprise Software Architect; minimum of 7 years of hands-on development experience with Java / J2EE / SQL stack.

Must have experience successfully moving product(s) into the cloud preferably using Azure

Agile Methodology

Preferred Qualifications :

Java / J2EE / SQL / Azure or AWS; exposure to Microsoft and open source tools

Experience using existing libraries; frameworks and RESTful and SOAP APIst o create complex applications

Experience using code management tools such as Jira; Github and / or Bitbucket

Experience with FEAF; Zachman or TOGAF frameworks

Familiarity with Test Driven Development; Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery

Experience using / implementing highly scalable; performance oriented SaaS products

Experience with distributed service transaction requirements with support for standards such as WS Coordination; WS-Atomic Transaction

Knowledge of design patterns; architectural styles and data models.
