1st Shift About The Opportunity Position Summary
This position is responsible for providing support for all issues relating to shipping, receiving and warehouse areas of the organization.
Must be in compliance with plant, department, and OSHA regulations and procedures. He / she will provide direction on the day-to-day activities of the department in order produce in the most efficient and effective manner.
Key Duties And Responsibilities
Demonstrates commitment to safety and performs job duties in accordance with company safety policies and procedures
Provide daily coaching supervision and feedback to all department employees
Coordinate all the shipping activities of the department
Provide backup to shipping / receiving and warehouse personnel as needed
Oversee freight program and policies
Continually improve overall performance of the shipping / receiving / warehouse department
Fill in for Shipping, Receiving and Warehouse Area Manager in his / her absence
Participate in scheduled weekend overtime and be on-call when scheduled
Assist shipping area manager with coordination of all inventories
Increase overall productivity to meet customer requirements
Monitor schedules, rush orders, hot list, call-ins etc.
Coordinate temporary service employees and all related activities
Monitor work areas to ensure all employees are working safely
Identify and implement process improvements & increased productivity opportunities
Enhance internal and external department communication toward a cohesive work environment
Assist the Department Area Manager on following areas : weekly / daily manning requirements, overtime requirements, quality complaints, provide input into employee disciplinary issues and performance reviews in a timely manner and in line with employee handbook
Work with peers and other departments to improve quality and performance
Actively participates in Lean manufacturing initiatives
Keep daily cleanup check sheets current and oversee and inspect daily cleanup of debris and dust in loading docks, staging areas and aisles within the warehouse, weekly cleanup of debris on the outside building grounds

High School Diploma or Equivalent Skills & Experience Knowledge, Skills, Or Abilities Desired
Must have computer skills in Microsoft Office and understanding of an ERP system
General knowledge of SAP functions in inventory management and warehouse management
Additional Requirements Physical Requirements
Ability to stand for 6-8 hours
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Ability to repetitively bend, crouch, and lift
