Sep 10, 2020, 3 : 32 : 27 PM JOB SUMMARY This position is responsible for leading the Quality Assurance function for the FABCO manufacturing plant reporting directly to the Quality Manager and dotted line to the FABCO Plant Manager.

Responsibilities include : Quality assurance, customer support and quality improvement for new and existing products. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Lead a team of quality engineers and technicians

Define departmental and employee goals and objectives

Assign responsibilities to employees and measure performance to documented objectives

Define and provide training for new or transferred employees

Provide focal support for the resolution of customer issues

Lead the investigation and resolution of quality issues

Manage customer communications

Provide quality support for the new product introduction process

Support the DFMEA and PFMEA processes

Ensure all FAI’s are completed to schedule

Establish control and gauge plans for new products

Secure and improve manufacturing quality

Define the control plan for assuring the quality of shipped products

Maintain workmanship standards for all products

Facilitate continuous improvement of key quality metrics that include :

First pass inspection yields

Manufacturing scrap

Customer complaint response time

PPM rejection rate from customers

Ensure compliance to established procedures essential to the quality and reliability of products

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES PREFERRED

Must have experience with :

Sheet metal fabrication processes and equipment

Welding (AWS certifications preferred)

Powder coat paint processes

Fluent in Spanish and English

ISO-9000, TS-16949, and / or TL-9000 experience

Knowledge and experience with Quality Engineering tools including capability studies, FMEA, DOE, gage studies

Proficient in Excel, Power Point, Word

Ability to manage multiple projects effectively and efficiently

Ability to forecast completion dates and meet deadlines.

Excellent organization and time management skills are a must.

Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Education

Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Metallurgical Engineering

Experience

Between 4-6 years of relevant experience
