The Senior Manager, Lean / CI is responsible for the successful planning, development, and execution of lean and continuous improvement programs for Vertiv throughout an assigned region, including the deployment of the Vertiv Operating System (VOS).

The Senior Manager, Lean / CI provides oversight on all continuous improvement projects and the standardization of manufacturing processes across an assigned region and provides input into the development and enforcement of global manufacturing standards.

The Senior Manager, Lean / CI captures and internalizes best practices across region and globally and shares with team members for implementation.

The Senior Manager, Lean / CI partners and consults with key regional business leaders, functional leaders, Plant Managers and their leadership teams to shape a regional strategy, develop plans and execute performance improvement initiatives.

  • The Senior Manager, Lean / CI develops Lean capabilities of leaders, including other VOS practitioners in the region to create sustainable models to drive daily problem solving and continuous improvement;
  • leads and coach leaders to integrate operations and functions end to end and drive improvement to reduce lead time, improve customer service levels, and lower total operating cost and increase cash flow.

    The Senior Manager, Lean / CI develops the Regional VOS / continuous improvement team and lead the continuous improvement of VOS standards, processes and methods.

  • Responsible for continuous improvement projects that drive value creation. Works with the Global VOS leader to develop and execute strategy Responsible for working with executive team and leaders throughout the organization to identify, prioritize, plan and deploy resources to continuous improvement efforts across the assigned region while ensuring alignment with overall Vertiv strategic plan.
  • Leads site analysis including baseline of operations and financial analysis and continuous measurement and improvement.
  • Coordinates and supervises the daily activities of the local site VOS Managers and ensures alignment and adherence to the VOS specs and framework.

    Ensures employees operate within VOS guidelines.

  • Attends the region VOS steering committee meetings. Accountable for the administration and execution of policies and procedures.
  • Frequently interacts with subordinates, customers and peer groups at various management levels.

  • Leads / accountable for facility VOS communications, education and trainings in the assigned region including Lean / green belt certifications with Internal / External support.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent of 7 plus years’ experience
  • Six Sigma / Lean certifications, preferred
  • Required experience :

  • Strong hands-on experience in the application of Toyota Production System (TPS) methods and way of thinking.
  • Strong experience in applying and coaching change management, behavior coaching and performance management methods.
  • Previous experience leading teams.
  • Skills required :

  • Strong ability and proven experience in leading change initiatives and drive process excellence.
  • Ability to coach, teach and lead leaders to develop continuous improvement strategies, influence decision making, and drive continuous improvement initiatives within the plant operations and functions.
  • Strong analytical skills, including the use of statistical modeling techniques, root cause analysis and other tools and methods typically deployed to drive operational improvements
  • Ability to influence and lead in a matrix organization to drive accountably and execution of VOS mindset and activities
  • Strong leadership, organizational, project management and inter-personal skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills, including the use of statistical modeling techniques, root cause analysis and other tools and methods typically deployed to drive operational improvements.
  • Strong knowledge of lean, as well as Six Sigma tools and methods.
  • Understand financial fundamentals.
