General Description Negotiates pricing, facilitates purchases, and coordinates all activities required to purchase after sales parts and accessory commodities for NNA, NMEX and NLAC plants & Dealers.

Locates and develops suppliers that can meet current and future production or non-production parts requirements. Ensures suppliers meet Nissans goals for quality, cost and delivery.

Coordinates with other departments to ensure an uninterrupted supply of parts to production lines and to solve supply problems.

Maintains daily business support activities of department administrative support personnel. Key Responsibilities Negotiates and establishes commodity prices for production parts.

Handles assigned commodities. Ensures cost control in accordance with the Nissan revival plan cost reduction goals and requirements.

Locates suppliers and develops their abilities to meet current and future production parts requirements. Ensures suppliers meet Nissans goals for quality, cost and delivery.

  • Performs comparative analysis of competing suppliers to select most competitive source for a specified commodity. Establishes contracts for assigned commodities;
  • maintains purchase orders, and related purchasing records; maintains files and records of current and potential suppliers, materials and prices.

    Coordinates activities between all departments and supplier base to ensure uninterrupted supply of parts and resolution of supply issues and problems.

    Plans, develops, implements and maintains cost reduction plans in support of the departments cost reduction goals. Coordinates all functions, procedures and system related concerns between NNA-National and NNA-Smyrna regarding service, accessory, remanufactured and key value parts.

    Locates suppliers and negotiates for the procurement of facilities and MRO purchased items and services related to non-production purchasing.

    As necessary, performs other related duties of which the above are representative. The following qualification statements reflect the minimum skills and abilities required of the qualified applicant.

  • Job Knowledge and Skill Commodity and market or commercial knowledge. Commercial and legal regulations knowledge; good communication skills-both verbal and written;
  • interpersonal; negotiation and cost and manufacturing process analysis skills. Education Chemical or Mechanical Bachelors degree Computer Skills Working knowledge of word processor, spreadsheet, other PC applications, or mainframe applications to produce non-standard, creative products.

Flexible working time Computer Skills CAD / CAE / Certifications Not necessary , But Basic knowledge of Manufacturing processes involved in car parts (Stamping parts, Plastic Injection parts, etc) Competencies Strong problem-solving skills A creative approach for generating new ideas A sound knowledge of computer assisted design (CAD) software An excellent grasp of engineering and design principles An understanding of manufacturing processes Good team working skills An appreciation of wider business demands & awareness of the environmental impact of design ideas.

  • Job Knowledge and Skill; Commodity and market knowledge. Commercial and legal regulations knowledge; good communication skills-both verbal and written;
  • interpersonal; negotiation and cost and manufacturing process analysis skills. Experience One or more years of directly related experience at a professional level in purchasing or project management preferably.

    Education Bachelors degree in a related discipline. Consider equivalent related college or technical courses, seminars in-house classroom training.

    Computer Skills; Working knowledge of word processor, spreadsheet, other PC applications, or mainframe applications to produce non-standard, creative products.
