We are looking for an Engineering Product Designer

Job Responsibilities

  • Create and revise robust solid models and detail drawings of complex components and assemblies from design layouts, marked prints, sketches, and verbal instructions.
  • Operate within a product lifecycle management (PLM) environment to specify parts and assemblies, create product structure, and receive / complete tasks.
  • Establish component tolerances in accordance with manufacturing capabilities.
  • Apply design for manufacturing (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) concepts in developing designs.
  • Critique designs for safety, manufacturability, failure modes, customer usage and function.
  • Perform complex tolerance analysis and validation.
  • Participate in design review activities.
  • Assist in establishing basic project design objectives and in the selection of design approaches.
  • Develop and obtain prototype parts for testing and pre-production activities.
  • Engage with new technologies : desktop 3d printing, virtual / augmented reality (VR / AR).
  • Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Design Technology and 5+ years of experience using CAD or Associate degree in Drafting / Design Technology and 8+ years of experience using CAD
  • Preferred Requirements

  • Experience using Creo Parametric with workspaces in Windchill.
  • Experience using Windchill to specify parts, create product structure, and receive / complete tasks.
  • Advanced CAD modeling, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), plastic part design, and DFM / DFA proficiency.
  • Ability to manage time and work effectively while being self-motivated.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Experience using Google’s G Suite products (Gmail, calendar, hangouts, drive, docs, sheets, slides, sites).
  • Required Skills
