Duties : Analyze transaction data provided by clients to determine the degree of workability of trade-related operations.
Prepare transaction drafts with relevant edits and feedback for use in decision making process by internal or external clients.
Utilize knowledge of Commercial Letters of Credit, Standby Letters of Credit and Documentary collections processes to promote Trade Services and assess end-
to-end transactions in Latin American region. Liaise with Trade Product Managers, Relationship Managers, Credit Control Area, Financial Institutions, Trade Advisory, Legal, Risk and Compliance to expedite transactions.
Communicate between Citibank branch and processing area and act as a first point of escalation for urgent and sensitive transactions to prioritize issuance and ensure timely delivery.
Identify the best transaction structure according to clients’ needs and negotiate transaction structure with clients / legal counsel to ensure compliance with the Bank’s policies and local regulations by using Trade knowledge, including Uniform Customs and Practice for Documentary Credits (UCP600), International Standby Practice (ISP98), International Standard Banking Practice (ISBP), International Commercial Terms (Incoterms 2010), Uniform Rules for Bank to Bank Reimbursements under Documentary Letters (URR725) and Uniform Rules for Collections (URC522).
Consult with clients throughout transaction process to resolve complaints and ensure quality service for all Letters of Credit related matters including client requests, queries and investigations.
Confer with business contacts to validate credit information. Utilize TRIMS software to conduct investigations regarding Letters of Credit and to review processing queues.
Deliver process improvement initiatives, develop key reporting metrics and ensure qualitative and quantitative goals are met.
Participate in trainings on the Bank’s Letter of Credit products, services and related processes for LatAm markets, as well as processes and methods in this specialized business area.
Requirements : Preferred a Bachelor’s degree in International Trade, Finance, Engineering or related field and 1 year of experience in the job offered, as a Business Analyst, or in a closely related position in the banking industry.
Full term of required experience must include assisting clients with Documentary Letters of Credit and Standby Letters of Credit transactions structuring, processing and customer service in LatAm marketsLiaising with Relationship Managers and Letters of Credit operations areas, including Credit Staff, Business Centers, and Legal, Risk, Compliance and Trade Service Professional departments to expedite the execution of Trade transactionsTracking transaction processing for new and current clients across the Letter of Credit pipeline using compliance regulation systems, processes and practices developed for the LatAm marketsUtilizing expertise in risk-
related compliance rules and detailed knowledge of UCP600, ISP98, ISBP, ICC’s Incoterms 2010, and ICC’s URR to advise clients on issues related to trade and to provide value-
adding solutionsApplying knowledge of Trade regulatory framework in LatAm Regions, including local government entities, regulatory agencies and local financial markets.
