AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Environmental / Social Oil and Gas Lead for employment in our Mexico City office.
AECOM is expanding its operations in Mexico to grow our business serving the oil and gas market. The Environmental / Social Oil and Gas Lead will possess both technical and business development skills that can help market our capabilities and successfully apply our environmental and socioeconomic skills for the oil and gas industry.
As a subject matter expert, the selected individual will be responsible for the successful execution and growth of programs that span AECOM’s oil and gas market as they impact the energy industry, from upstream through midstream, downstream, and chemicals.
To be successful, this individual must have established client relationships in this industry within Mexico. The individual must have strong interpersonal skills and be perceived by clients and peers as a leader who provides value.
The individual should also have a relevant technical background in environmental and socioeconomic studies in Mexico and experience in planning and managing projects serving the oil and gas industry.
The successful candidate will possess demonstrated leadership qualities and a successful track record in developing and completing initiatives.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to :
Develops effective and insightful analysis of external market and technology trends within the oil and gas market, identifiying key business and growth opportunities for AECOM’s portfolio
Establishes a clear understanding of competitor practices and defining strategies for effectively developing differentiated competitive strategies for AECOM’s oil and gas business line offering
Responsible for growing business to $2 M / year within two to three years
Manages projects, meeting schedules and budget constraints and uses earned value management techniques to track project status
Project management will include scheduling and mobilizing staff, selecting vendors, and managing performance to meet cost and schedule deadlines
Works closely with other AECOM leadership in executing the overall oil and gas business strategy and in building overall awareness of AECOM’s services
Identifies skill sets needed for AECOM’s offshore environmental Mexico office to effectively develop and grow our business
Develops long-term financial and business strategies to support investment requirements and decisions consistent with strategic business line objectives, establishing appropriate financial measures and economic analysis to assess accomplishment of investment objectives
Prepares proposals and negotiates with clients in collaboration with internal technical, legal, and contract stakeholders
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical discipline, such as environmental engineering, ecology, social science or other environmental discipline
15+ years of scientific and / or technical experience working in related technical field, or equivalent experience for oil and gas to include 5+ years of experience in a Technical Sales or Technical Service position
Experience selling technical programs to oil and gas industry clients
Experience managing relationships with clients
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with subcontractors or research organizations
Ability to write proposals and sell work
Computer proficient in MS Office
Bilingual in English and Spanish
Master’s degree in a relevant technical discipline, such as environmental engineering, ecology, social science or other environmental discipline
Ability to travel, with up to 25% of time away from the office
