Under direction of the Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor and the RF Business Unit Director, perform a wide variety of duties in providing support to the antennae, connector and cable assembly departments.
Establish engineering documentation for production assembly. Design and fabricate tooling and fixtures required for new product manufacture and process improvements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES :
Work with design engineers, engineering data, drawings and specifications and other related data to make new designs or modify existing tooling and fixtures.
Utilize CAD software. Make engineering calculations in the design process.
Prepare conceptual layouts, assembly and detail drawings.
Establish thorough engineering documentation for production assembly. Generate detailed set-up, operating and maintenance documentation for automatic equipment.
Provide technical support for the Production Department by interfacing with supervisors and set up personnel to discuss current assembly problems that require new tooling, modified tooling or assembly process modifications.
Design and debug tooling as required.
Instruct production personnel in the proper use of the tooling. Investigate technical problems and make tooling and assembly process modification.
Ensure all documentation is updated.
Design procedures for the manufacture, repair or modification of equipment.
Contact outside vendors for the fabrication of specialized tooling and machines.
Provide information for long term planning of improvement to equipment and tooling.
Investigate and make recommendations to resolve assembly problems and improve manufacturing efficiencies.
Ensure all company policies, rules and regulations are followed in all operations. Maintain effective communications with all department and company personnel.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES : Responsible for own work.

Strong computer skills with demonstrated ability in engineering software applications

Ability to work independently and in a team environment
EDUCATION AND / OR EXPERIENCE :
5- 7 years in a manufacturing environment.
