Job Overview

TE Connectivity’s Technical Engineering Support Teams analyze, test and assist in research for the development of products and processes.

Team members may specialize in quality control or assurance, chemical manufacturing processes, metals, electrical connectors and components, process development, materials, and / or instrumentation.

They may also handle calibration, displays, network control, mold development and audiovisual work or environmental health and safety.

The Technical Engineering Support Teams are responsible for the completion of assigned engineering projects within budgetary and scheduling guidelines.

They plan, prioritize, and manage multiple engineering projects; prioritize tasks and assign team members to ensure that the team's overall resources are used effectively and that project deadlines are met.

They evaluate and authorize changes that significantly impact the scope, budget, or timeline of a project. At times, they may work directly with customers to understand needs, gather customer requirements, identify resources and assess project risks.

They create, develop, plan, write and edit operational, instructional, maintenance or test procedures for paper, multimedia or web-

based publication, for non-technical and technical users.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

The Americas Digital Factory team helps manufacturing operations realize operational efficiency and improve employee productivity by deploying effective and efficient Digital Factory tools.

Unleash your creativity and imagination in the digital space as an Electronic Technician with the Digital Factory team. The Digital Factory Technician works with controls engineer and Digital Factory project leaders on implementing tools according the projects plan.

Will constantly look for innovative and cost effective ways for equipment connectivity compliance to the digital factory requirements.

The ideal candidate should have a good knowledge and understanding of manufacturing processes, electrical drawings, PLCs programming and pneumatic / electrical installations.

Basic PLC programming is a must.

This role will report to the Digital Factory Project Leader and will work closely with plant manufacturing personnel. Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical wiring
  • PLCs programming (Allen Bradley, Siemens, Omron)
  • Pneumatic installations
  • Design, draw and read electrical circuit diagrams.
  • Download pre-configured programs into PLCs and other devices
  • Test and monitor implemented solutions.
  • Ability to think out of the box Qualifications :
  • BS or equivalent in engineering, electronics, mechatronics, technical discipline or equivalent experience
  • 1-3 years of experience on electrical and pneumatic equipment installation
  • PLC Basic programming (Allen Bradley, Siemens, Omron), communication protocols and OPC server and client knowledge is a plus
  • Experience with troubleshooting various tiers of hardware and software to ensure 0% data loss
  • Experience in configuring and programming Bar Code Scanners, RFID systems, metrology equipment and other accessories
  • MES Hydra knowledge is a plus
  • A strong sense of urgency and ability to multi-task is required
  • Proficiency in working with Microsoft Office tools (MS Excel, PowerPoint) and other software products
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Technical English reading, English spoken is a plus
