Job Purpose Development Engineering role needs analyse and refine business requirements, in order to translate these in IT requirements which enable eficient delivery to market.

The Solutions proposed must meet the business needs and cost effective and in line with Global IT Architecture standards.

Solutions should continue to maintain the integrity, resilience and contingency standards expected of HSBC systems.They will be involved in overseeing the deployment, planning, configuration & testing working in Agile way.

Principal Accountabilities Driving Sustainable Growth. Creates sustainable value. Engages with colleagues to offer commercially viable, sustainable proposals aligned to HSBC's strategy.

  • The role holder will act as a resource in the design stage of engineering, and will have a relative degree of autonomy overseeing the phase of deployment;
  • they would be involved in multiple products and technologies, ensuring the analysis and interpretation of comprehensive information in order to provide commercially viable and sustainable solutions.

    They will demonstrate and apply excellent business domain knowledge.

  • Define and plan the end-to-end change approach accurately. Manage the end-to-end components of the change journey, including defining and implementing the necessary mitigation plan for any risks / issues. Local Job Requirements

  • Budget. Analyses financial data for large-scale / complex programmes or portfolio, but will have no budgetary sign-off.
  • People. No direct reports.
  • Relationships. Internal relationships extend to peers, and up to 2 levels in the organisation, within IT. Primarily within the engineering function.
  • Key relationships will be with the Senior and up to the, Lead Engineer and Engineering Managers.

  • Regulatory. Promotes good practice, Promotes importance of following risks, recognises inefficiencies.
  • Strategic Input. Implementation of specific parts of goals, strategy and IT Operating Model. Carrying out the execution of the strategy.
  • Technology The role holder will have a supportive role within the engineering family, carrying out more technical work with a degree of autonomy, they will assist in the planning, deployment, configuration and testing and will be involved with multiple products, they will support the Senior Engineers.
