Overview & Responsibilities We are looking to add a new member to our team to manage the Accounting, Tax and Payroll functions for our growing facility located in Mexico.
This manager will be responsible for reviewing the work, schedules, control assessments, and tax filings produced by our independent third party vendor.
In addition, they will be responsible for monthly and quarterly reporting packages to include, but not limited to, variance analytics, rent schedules, wage metrics, capital expenditures, and project statuses.
They will also be evaluating vendor performance and evaluate current accounting / tax structure for efficiencies.
This person should be fully versed in US GAAP policies and IFRS polices and remain informed on Mexican rules and regulations.
This position may assist the HR representative in matters of personnel metrics and management.
Accounting Manager Job duties : + Review all Accounts Payable, Fixed Assets and Journal entry transactions review and ensure complete package presented for month end close + Balance Sheet reconciliations reviewed and documented for month end close + Be able to cover third party vendor (contingency plan) for close activities.
Prepare and / or Review PBC schedules for both internal SEC reporting team and external auditors as well as ad hoc reports requested from our Financial Leaders + Review and ensure all data submitted to Mexican authorities is accurately and timely + Actively review related processes and procedures for improvement and collaborating with other impacted teams to implement.
Ensure all deadlines are met (with high level of accuracy) in regards to Monthly and Quarterly close and all related processes, Control Compliance and SEC / Audit requests.
Actively evaluate third party Accounting / Tax vendor + Review bi-monthly payroll numbers prepared by third party vendor for accuracy (to also include annual payouts for Christmas and Profit Sharing and terminated employees) + Understand and Review Treasury functions and processes.
Review disbursements made via wire transfer and entered into banking portal + Be proficient in English and Spanish.
Be able to articulate Compliance requirements, IFRS vs GAAP differences, and strategies.
Assist US tax team with preparing or gathering information need for tax filings and other related matters + Keep US tax and accounting teams informed on any compliance issues with regards to local laws and regulations Qualifications Ideal Candidate will have the following : + Ability to work in a fast-
paced, deadline driven environment that requires the management of multiple projects at one time.
Good working knowledge and understanding of accounting processes and required documentation (i.
Experience with Excel, Subledger and GL systems, Oracle a plus.
IFRS knowledge and application is mandatory + Strong Knowledge of GAAP preferred + Excellent time management, decision-
making, analytical and organizational skills.
Effective communicator; enjoys interacting and collaborating with team members and business partners.
Detail-oriented with an ability to critically analyze financial data and prepare financial reports.
Ability to create efficiencies or solutions for existing or unexpected situations.
Resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways.
Accounting or Finance degree required + CPA or CPA candidate preferred.
Requires 8 plus years of related corporate or public accounting experience.
Requires 5 plus years of leadership responsibility (may be coterminous with accounting experience) Consistently demonstrates the ability to provide expedient and professional support to internal business partners and US teams
