Position Summary : Essential Functions

Strategic

  • Ensure that the processes and procedures are in place to maintain the appropriate inventory levels needed for daily production.
  • Establish and drive the necessary actions to meet the company’s inventory goals and baselines (turn-rates, inventory dollars, Days of Supply, etc.
  • by utilizing best practice processes and procedures concurrent with the company’s requirements and guidelines.

  • Provide the appropriate analysis and reports to review purchasing, consumption, material replenishment parameters, inventory actual versus forecast, cycle counts, etc.
  • Responsible for implementation of on-going functionality of the SAP system from an overall organization expectation and functional inventory flow responsibilities
  • Drive inventory reduction programs through KANBAN, VMI, and consignment programs.
  • Lead the identification of excess and obsolete inventory items; partner with manufacturing personnel to develop disposition actions.
  • Partner with corporate and manufacturing personnel to drive improvements on inventory and material flow for cost reductions.
  • Forecast inventory through the SIOP process and lead inventory / planning meeting to assure the proper plan is driving MRP
  • Lead KPS methodology and culture change within the plants
  • Tactical
  • Support the implementation of Change Requests by leading and facilitating the procurement activities in the GCM application
  • Support the Quality Department in the management of PPAP and non-conformances wherever supplier performance is involved.
  • Lead root cause, corrective and preventative action implementation for said issues.

  • Responsible for planning and buying; materials, parts, supplies, services and equipment in a timely and cost effective manner;
  • maintaining quality standards and specifications.

  • Review purchase requests and facilitate authorizations for the timely purchase of new products.
  • Manage Supplier Planners' activities to meet inventory goals, eliminate past due schedules, meet supplier delivery performance targets and champion escalation of critical supply issues with suppliers and inside the Bendix organization. Analytical
  • Ensure at any time that the MRP purchasing information is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Ensure supplier compliance with company requirements for safety, legal and environmental matters.
  • Liaise with Accounts Payable Department to ensure accurate and timely payment of invoices, as necessary to maintain supplier relationships.
  • Analyzes changes or new issues in materials and supply to reduce costs, improve quality and ensure product safety requirements are met.
  • Support the engineering department especially for the quoting of new products and for providing the necessary supplier information through the GCM application
  • Knowledge :

  • Must have a strong materials and inventory background / knowledge base.
  • Knowledge of Six-Sigma tools and processes. Greenbelt certification a plus
  • Knowledge of braking products and commodities a plus
  • SAP knowledge required.
  • Microsoft suite proficient. Strong Microsoft Excel skills a must.
  • An understanding of the e-Ventus system a plus or other web based supplier communication tools.
  • 100% Bi-lingual Spanish / English required
  • Analytical Skills.
  • Ability to manage and develop personnel.
  • Ability to identify problems, resolve and propose solutions to problems.
  • Motivated - Self Starter.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to present ideas.
  • 1-3 Years Experience in MRP and ERP systems.
  • Procurement exposure of different commodities (stampings, aluminum die casting, plastic injection, grey iron, fasteners )
  • Effective negotiation
  • Skills :

  • Demonstrated leadership and development skills with strong influence / interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical, planning and organizational skills required
  • Innovated self-starter with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong Excel Skills a must and overall MS office
  • Commodity knowledge in Aluminum Die casting, Plastic Injection Molding, stampings, grey iron)
  • Education :

  • Bachelors Degree required, preferably in supply base management.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in supply base management required.
  • APICS Certification (CPIM, CIRM) a plus
  • Skills :

  • Demonstrated leadership and development skills with strong influence / interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical, planning and organizational skills required
  • Innovated self-starter with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong Excel Skills a must and overall MS office
