Major Duties & Responsibilities (additional) include but are not limited to the following :

  • Coordinates the implementation of EH&S Annual Plan and present progress quarterly at Division level. Responsible to take initiatives, coordinate efforts internally at ATB or Division, or externally with suppliers, authorities to make sure plan progress is achieved as expected
  • Responsible to keep ATB in compliance with Mexican EH&S regulations :
  • Main contact for EH&S Mexican government agencies
  • Responsible to file required permits, keep them updated among other : COAWater discharge permit
  • Responsible to coordinate and guide authorities visits and audits to the facilityFrom opening visit to closing letter / meeting.
  • Follow up to observations on a timely and diligent manner, including coordination of resources / assign responsibilities.

  • Responsible to assure compliance with Mexican Labor, Environmental and Health laws
  • Responsible to assure compliance with applicable EH&S Mexican Official Rules (Norma Oficial Mexicana)
  • Responsible to organize, coordinate training and maintain updated the EH&S committees required by law : Safety & HealthEvacuation First AidOther
  • Identify and contract with Purchasing support and / or impacted areas, the required services to complete studies and analysis to stay in compliance with Mexican legal requirements related to EH&S and / or get the required permits or licenses.
  • Organizes, supervise & coordinate following services personnel : Doctor / nurse servicesEH&S personnelJanitorial servicesSecurity services
  • Other EH&S responsibilities : Main contact with EH&S corporate matter experts.Implement plant wide general programs to maintain awareness and engagement of personnel and increase EH&s culture in the plant.
  • Maintain permanent surveillance of plant to identify potential hazards and EH&S improvement opportunities.Responsible to coordinate the WIMS system including auditing the completing of actions to close them.

    Responsible for fire and spills event follow up and reporting.Responsible to organize and train (using internal and external services) emergency response, evacuation, fire and spills squads.

    Responsible to organize, coordinate and supervise plant medical and nurse services.Responsible to coordinate and supervise ergonomics program.

    Responsible to keep updated the visitors / contractors EH&S plant requirements and make sure they receive the appropriate training / guidance.

  • Janitorial services responsibilitiesSupervise and coordinate the janitorial personnel.Define the required cleaning frequencies and roles at plant.
  • Organize and coordinate the roof quarterly cleaningCoordinate the coffee service at plant.

  • Security services responsibilities : Identify and select jointly with Purchasing the external security service.Define in coordination with Management, the security requirements at plant.
  • Be the main contact and communicate to the external security service the instructions, guidelines, expectations.Make sure that security personnel is trained in the applicable work instructions.

    Additional Responsibilities for a bachelor in Medicine :

  • Provide minimum medical support for ATB employees : Dedicated scheduled one hour per dayAs required provide guidance and support to the nurse for unplanned health conditionsProvide first aid, initial diagnosis support for emergency casesCoordinate, provide support and develop nurse to meet personnel health records and meet 3M Health Department requirements Be responsible of the creation and implementation of the plans related to the Global Safety and Health Standard Medical ElementsApply adequate ethical and professional judgment at the time to evaluate or review medical cases related or possibly related to the workplace.
  • Oversee the occupational medical surveillance programs (eg. hearing conservation program). Determining the appropriate vendor to perform clinical testing (eg.

    audiograms) according to best practices and 3M quality standards. Tracking vendor performance based on quality parameters.

    Analyze medical surveillance clinical testing results (eg. audiogram testing) and determined the appropriate actions based on the findings.

    Provide guidance to the on-site occupational health nurse to effectively complete all the operational activities related to the Global Safety and Health Standard Medical Elements, hearing conservation and respirator use (if applicable).

    Lead wellness and well-being initiatives for the workforce and their family members (if applicable).

    Basic / Minimum Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferably Engineering, Health, Business Administration
  • Plus : bachelor degree in Medicine
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience in the area.
  • Strong leading skills and attitude to work in multidisciplinary teams, capable to create engagement to convey EH&S culture to the plant.
  • Knowledge of Mexican EH&S related laws and Mexican Official Rules (Applicable NOM’s)
  • Bilingual English & Spanish
  • Good skills Microsoft applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Team work, responsible, prioritize and execute, dynamic, focus in results.
  • Sales Territory : N / A

    Travel : May include up to 10% Travel (domestic / global)
