Tektronix is seeking a highly accomplished Applications Engineer to serve in the position Video Application Engineer LATAM, Video Sales.

The Video Applications Engineer LATAM will report directly to the Manager of Applications Engineering Americas. As detailed below, the position will provide consultative technical assistance on all Tektronix video product lines to end users and resale partners throughout Latin America.

The position is based in Mexico City and requires fluency in English, Spanish and Portuguese. KEY EXPERIENCES AND SKILLS :

  • 10 year’s experience in Video / cable / broadcast segments, ideally with 5 year’s experience in test and measurement related solutions selling to large strategic customers and partners.
  • Effective written and oral presentation skills
  • Knowledge of the regional account base with technical decision making contacts
  • Proven track record of working complex deals with key customers; build value added selling skills.
  • Experience selling products in highly defended markets that "unseat" a competitor's product.
  • Ability to understand and apply market intelligence to overall Sales strategy
  • Experience using disciplined Sales tools and processes for achieving results.

  • Works directly with Tektronix sales staff and regional dealers to perform pre sales activities including product demonstrations, customer education and project consultation along with tactical planning to increase the LATAM sales closure ratio.
  • Performs service and support as required on installed Tek systems and equipment.
  • Acts as a Tek product specialist, delivering targeted sales and technical presentations at trade shows, industry gatherings and at customer meetings.
  • Provides detailed product information and training for system integrators and end users at customer sites.
  • Understands the competitor’s products and strategy and knows how to sell against the competition
  • Creates and maintain a positive relationship with potential and existing customers, leveraging any preexisting industry contacts.
  • Participates in major trade shows and other key customer events
  • Presents to executive level customers, Tek’s corporate vision and technology roadmaps
  • As required provides project management services and continuing engineering support on high profile projects
  • Creates Spanish language sales materials (webinars, presentations, content, template design) targeted to specific customer opportunities
  • Qualifications

    The successful candidate will possess the following combination of education and experience :

  • Understanding of the varying aspects and cultures of broadcast and cable industry in Latin American countries
  • Must possess or be able to acquire proper visa and travel clearances to enter and work in Latin America countries served by Tektronix
  • Understanding of the practical application and deployment of systems using industry standards such as SMPTE 2022 6, SMPTE 2210 X, PTP, H.264 and HEVC.265.
  • Proficiency with SDI test and measurement equipment
  • Intimate knowledge working with 4K production solutions & SDR / HDR workflows
  • Ability to effectively explain to customers evolving industry trends in IP, virtualization, cloud, and service business models.
  • Ability to assimilate emerging technical developments and information and incorporate it into customer specific sales strategy.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar discipline or equivalent industry experience and training
  • TRAVEL : 75% (International)
