Amazon is seeking a Tax Manager to join its Direct Tax Reporting team within the Foreign Reporting Group in Mexico with responsibilities throughout Latin America.

related filings of Amazon’s foreign entities.
As a member of the Foreign Reporting Group, the Tax Manager will primarily drive the process of managing foreign local tax accounting compliance for various countries in Latin America, international aspects of the US GAAP worldwide tax provision, and components of non-
US withholding tax issues and compliance. A highly organized, self-starter with excellent communication, collaboration and project management skills will be successful on this team.
Manage non-US (LATAM) income tax accounting under US GAAP, IFRS, etc.
Manage non-US (LATAM) income tax return compliance
Coordinate, supervise, review and manage components of non-US (LATAM) withholding tax compliance
Seek and manage tax planning opportunities in Foreign Countries
Review tax planning strategies from a local tax compliance perspective
Research and review non-US tax effects of various international transactions
Support international tax controversy teams on tax audits
Drive process improvements and coordinate with various teams to streamline recurring processes through automation
Develop, implement and document standard procedures for tax compliance and reporting processes
Follow up with tax law changes and implement new processes and strategies.
Coordinate and manage the use of outside advisors for the provision of technical memos that support tax positions as part of the tax compliance
Review financial data for proper application of tax laws and transfer pricing.
Work with tax technology and IT teams to come up with automated solutions to the compliance process and assist with implementation if needed
Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) from an accredited institution in Accounting
6+ years of income tax reporting experience.
Previous experience in South America tax compliance
Project and people management experience
Experience interacting with outside service providers.
Self-starter with ability to prioritize tasks and independently define, implement, and manage creation of new processes.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in Spanish.
Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, including the ability to read, write, and speak English fluently
